5 Cute Baby Shower Themes You Can’t Go Wrong With

I love any excuse to plan a party. Coming up with ideas, searching for the supplies, and allowing my creative juices to flow is so much fun. It’s even more fun to plan a party for someone special in your life, like a mom-to-be. A baby shower is the perfect way to show her how much you care and help her get prepared for her little bundle of joy.If you’re planning a baby shower for a family member or a friend, the first thing you need to do is to choose a theme. Think of different things that the mom-to-be loves. You can also create a theme around the gender of the child or the nursery that they’ve planned. Disney Baby is full of ideas and has all of the supplies that you need to throw a great baby shower. Here are five of my favorite baby shower ideas that any mom-to-be would love!Woodland Theme: I love the woodland theme so much that I designed my son’s nursery and his birthday party from the idea. There is so much you can do with this theme, and it’s so fun to design. A lot of the design can be found outside in your own backyard. Utilize sticks, pinecones, moss, and rocks that you have in your backyard for table decor. It’s also a great idea to use decor that the mom-to-be can use later on. I used figurines and antlers for my son’s first birthday party that I put as decor in his room once the party was over. Wood slabs that you can purchase from a local craft store make great serving trays. Get creative with this natural and down to earth theme.AdvertisementVintage Mickey and Minnie Mouse Theme: No matter how old you are, baby clothes, you are never too old for a little Disney magic in the form of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I always start with a color scheme based off of the theme and go from there. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are known for black, baby care, white, and red. Use those colors throughout the party with balloons, napkins, tableware, and more. You could also throw in the vintage look with an older version of Mickey and Minnie. Use decor that Mom can take home and use with her little one. I love this plush Mickey Mouse that you can use as decor on the gift table, but would also look great in baby’s nursery.Lullaby Theme: Every baby loves a lullaby, and every mom loves to sing her little one a sweet song. I remember singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to my kids when I was still pregnant. Pick a favorite lullaby and then let the theme run from there. If you want “Twinkle Twinkle,” then use as the main idea for the party. Another favorite is “You Are My Sunshine.” Use the sun and different shades of yellow throughout the party. Ask the mom-to-be what her favorite lullaby is, and surprise her once she arrives with a theme planned around her favorite.$2.99 – $14.99WINNIE THE POOH Baby Shower SuppliesHundred Acre Wood Theme: Winnie the Pooh is so cuddly and lovable that he makes for a great theme to shower the mom-to-be. Use soft colors and the Hundred Acre Wood as your inspiration when planning this party. Honey was Pooh’s favorite, and there are so many great food ideas that you can do based on that idea. Or, try a bright and sunny version with these Winnie the Pooh themed baby shower supplies.Ready to Pop: This is a fun party to play off of the mom-to-be who’s “ready to pop.” Use balloons as the centerpiece of inspiration with this theme. You can use her favorite colors for the balloons, popcorn for a snack, and cake-pops for a sweet treat. If it pops, it would be a great addition to make this baby shower a great one.Once you’ve chosen the theme that you want to shower the expectant mom, it’s time to send out the invitations. Along with the invite, I also send along where she is registered as well as other ideas of gifts that she would like.
